EXPERIENCE

Jefferson Village School, Jefferson, ME: Technology Coordinator, 8/2009-Present. The kids at this K-8 school know me as the computer guy. They call me Mr. Bill. I oversee the Maine Learning Technology Initiative (MLTI) program which includes iPads for the 7th & 8th grades and previous program laptops which are in the 4th through 6th grades plus a computer lab for kindergarten through 3rd grade. Responsible for internet access and filtering, network management, instruction, along with faculty and staff technology support and education integration assistance. The activity includes maintaining assets' information for the 379 devices using JAMF MDM, Meraki MDM, Apple Remote Desktop (ARD), and spreadsheets. The customer service support to 180 students and 49 staff involves timely personal response for application assistance and troubleshooting. I encourage and motivate students to learn technology through instruction and guidance during their free class periods, recess time and after school.

Penobscot Job Corps (Career Systems Development Corporation), Bangor, ME. Substitute Instructor (Culinary and Facility Maintenance), 2/2008-7/2008.

S. J. Rollins Technology, Inc., Bangor, ME.  Information Systems Support, 2/2006-10/2007. 

Grace Evangelical College and Seminary, Bangor, ME. Chief Advancement Officer, 10/2004-1/2006.  Responsible for promoting the school and fund raising through publications, correspondence, and presentations. Managed the computers network system. In December of 2005, an endowment of $450,000 was received.

Bangor Baptist Ministries, Bangor, ME. Development Assistant and Systems Manager, 3/2003- 10/2004. Responsible for the weekly church publication and ministries' websites. Fund raising primarily through written correspondence. Involved with children's ministries by writing and presenting inspirational dramatic sketches. Performed in the larger music based church productions.

Passamaquoddy Tribe, Pleasant Point Reservation, Perry, ME. Project Engineer and Computer Systems Manager, 1991-2003. Project manager for the construction of a 15,000 sq. ft. office building and a 150,000 g.p.d. waste water treatment facility. Planning Department grant application writer. Network manager, systems analysis, Filemaker and Access application development, website manager and computer instructor.

Washington County Technical College, Calais, ME.  Instructor, 1999 Spring Semester. Manual Drafting, CAD, and Independent Contractor Management including project management with emphasis on organization, planning, bid development, correspondence, insurances, bonding, budgeting, expense tracking and tax planning.

BankBoston (now Bank America), Dedham, MA (Kenda Systems, Inc., Wilmington, MA Contract Consultant) Computer Network Administration and Application, 1997. Novell NetWare 4.1 Administration with OS/2 transaction server and retail banking application support.  Provided second level support to the 500 retail branches.

Parker Hannifin Manufacturing Engineer, 1986-1991 Metal working and casting. Statistical process control. Simultaneous engineering for manufacturing and design. Manufacturing process drawings done with CAD (CADKEY). CNC programming for lathes, machining centers, and gear hob. Cost reduction team leader and award winner.

Georgia-Pacific Corporation 1981-1985
Team Leader for Purchased Software, System analysis and programming for paper mill maintenance applications. Specified and developed maintenance management system for Division's northeast mills. Programmed and maintained source code (BASIC) for VAX-VMS networked system.
Plant Engineer responsible for steam generation, facilities and equipment maintenance as well as project management for a 100 ton per day fine paper mill. Projects included $2,000,000 rebuild of the paper machine white water system for solids recovery and wastewater lagoon closure. Supervised a foreman and 10 union trades people.
Project Engineer responsible for general mill projects, fire protection, and computer files of equipment for high quality pulp and fine paper manufacturing. Projects included water supply pumps and piping, fourdrinier and press section vacuum pump installation, and maintenance data system development. Supervised 2 people in the fire protection maintenance team.

Moore Business Forms Mechanical Development Engineer, 1980 Invented and developed a system that measures the modulus of elasticity of paper during continuous web printing. This project required basic research, mechanical design, and system analysis. Also designed components for business machines such decollators and detachers.

Norton Company Manufacturing Engineer, 1976-1979 Process Engineer for low and high production of vitrified and organically bonded grinding wheels. Accomplishments included wastage reduction (eliminated stress cracking in small vitrified product, etc.), process improvements (microwave preheating of hot press products, etc.), and product development (organic ball wheel, etc.). Statistical process control and analysis. Developed a microwave heating process for the Wellyn Garden City, England factory.
